Seagate, Western Digital & Toshiba
Three companies left in the world make spinning disks. None is European.
Mechanical hard drives still hold most of the world's archived data, and after thirty years of consolidation exactly three manufacturers remain: Seagate and Western Digital in the United States, Toshiba in Japan. There is no fourth, and there has never been a European one at scale. Every one of those drives also contains a neodymium magnet to move the head, so this card depends on the rare earth card as well.

Not an unfinished card: we looked, and nothing in Europe does this at a scale you could actually switch to. It is here so the gap is visible — these are the places where something is missing rather than merely losing.
