GoPro, DJI Osmo & Insta360
The one camera category Europe never entered.
Action and 360° cameras are an American company and two Chinese ones, and that is the whole market. It is a striking absence given how strong European optics are elsewhere — Leica in Wetzlar, Zeiss in Oberkochen, Phase One in Copenhagen — but those houses build for large sensors and long lenses, not for something you strap to a helmet. The nearest European thing is a rugged phone: Crosscall of Aix-en-Provence makes waterproof handsets that survive most of what an action camera does.

Not an unfinished card: we looked, and nothing in Europe does this at a scale you could actually switch to. It is here so the gap is visible — these are the places where something is missing rather than merely losing.
